Thieves rolls through Valemount

Valemount hit by thieves

Valemount RCMP are looking for a suspect(s) in a break and enter on two different occasions, which they believe may be related.

The Lakes District Maintenance yard on Blackman Road in Tete Jaune Cache reported a break and enter on the evening of Saturday, August 8 (2020).

The suspect(s) forcefully opened the front gate and tried to steal fuel.  A utility trailer was also broken into and over $5,000 in power and gas tools were stolen, including a jack hammer, and a quick-cut circular saw.

On August 11 (2020) in the morning, Valemount RCMP were called to the Car Wash Depot on Ash Street where they discovered that an individual attempted to drill out the locked cash boxes on site.

"There have been a number of reported break and enters in the community that have occurred during and after business hours. Police are asking for the communities help in preventing any future incidents," says Cst. Robert Riemer, Valemount RCMP.
