Homeis is a new app for South Asian immigrants in Canada

Immigrant app launches

Homeis — an app for newcomers to Canada — has begun serving the South Asian immigrant community.

The app connects immigrants who share the same homeland and offers online communities to connect with those from similar backgrounds and countries. Homeis plans to roll out Indian, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Pakistani and Sri Lankan communities next week.

Homeis has guides, tools and resources in native languages; it aims to be a safe space for trusted insight from professionals, according to a news release. Immigrants facing roadblocks with Visas, job prospects, and medical or legal issues can use the platform to get advice.

According to the release, some of the most frequently asked questions on the Homeis app are:

  • Is my master's degree valid in Canada?
  • How do I get a job in Canada?
  • How to send money back home?

You can check out the Homeis website here.
