A worker at Burnaby’s biggest mall, Metropolis at Metrotown, has tested positive for COVID-19, according to memo sent to mall tenants.
The memo is from mall landlord Ivanhoe Campbridge’s Charles Fleck, general manager of the B.C. region, and says the mall has taken steps to deal with the positive case.
“(Metrotopolis at Metrotown) has been following protocols and guidelines to respond to this situation, including all cleaning requirements by a cleaning contractor trained to respond to the situation, in the areas under its control. Please note that this person is no longer in the shopping centre.”
The letter does not disclose the store where the worker was employed and on Twitter, the @metropolisatmet account has cited “privacy” for not disclosing it.
“Rest assured that we have been following protocols and guidelines to respond to this situation including all cleaning requirements,” says a mall tweet.
