A downtown traffic light was taken down by a semi-truck on Wednesday afternoon after the driver took the corner too close.
RCMP and fire rescue arrived at Winnipeg St. at Westminster Ave. to analyze the damage.
A bystander noted that there was "such a loud boom" when the truck struck, guessing it could be heard all the way down to the beach.
He saw the light slowly tilt before it crashed, as the truck took the corner.
