Leppard tour still 50/50

Def Leppard star Phil Collen has urged fans not to set their hopes for the band's 2021 stadium tour with Motley Crue and Poison too high as the gigs could still be shelved.

The three groups, and support act Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, had to postpone The Stadium Tour this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic, and dates have been pushed to next year, with most of the rockers involved assuring fans the trek will take place.

But Collen isn't so sure, insisting it's 50/50 if the show will go on.

"If everyone does what they are supposed to do, then we will be there next summer..." the rocker tells SiriusXM's Eddie Trunk.

"It depends. It's not us. It's like when you're driving. It's that thing - it's not me; you have to watch out for every other idiot on the road. So that's where we are right now. But we are ready to go."

And if the shows do go ahead as planned, Collen insists he and Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx will be fighting fit: "Me and Nikki Sixx were talking about getting in shape for it (tour)..." he explains, "and then we had the plug pulled, so we actually have got a year to look even better, so it will be even cooler."

The Stadium Tour is now scheduled to kick off on June 19, 2021, in Nashville.
