Target latest to pick up book by Okanagan author

Book keeps gaining steam

Randy Kolibaba didn't write his story of hope and inspiration to become a best selling author.

The former head of the Vernon RCMP wrote the book with the desire to help others, and since the book came out last year, he has done both.

Is this the life you imagined? What if you are wrong? has been a best seller on Amazon in the self help/motivational category. It is also being sold at Wal Mart, Indigo, Chapters, Barnes and Noble and several other outlets.

And now Target is the latest mega-store to pick up the book, but selling lots of copies was secondary to Kolibaba's intent when he penned the book.

Kolibaba is humbled – and he admits somewhat surprised – by how well the book is doing.

“The more exposure it gets, the more we can put back to the community,” said Kolibaba who has been using money from book sales to support the non-profit Mamas for Mamas.

“For me that's what's important. When you get to a point where you can give back, that's really rewarding. Being a best seller feeds the ego, but that's not why I wrote the book,” said Kolibaba, adding he did not expect the book to be the runaway success it has become.

The book is also at the Okanagan Regional Library and can be purchased online.
