Trudeau's 'plan-demic'

Dear prime minister,

During your fabricated “plan-demic” statements, where I see you standing in front of the podium for your daily infliction of “corona-phobia,” I am reminded of a scene from the 1995 movie The American President. Specifically, the scene where they are discussing leadership in the oval office:

Lewis Rothschild (played by Michael J. Fox): “People want leadership. And in the absence of genuine leadership, they will listen to anyone who steps up to the microphone. They want leadership, Mr. President. They're so thirsty for it, they'll crawl through the desert toward a mirage, and when they discover there's no water, they'll drink the sand.”

President Andrew Shepherd (played by Michael Douglas):” Lewis, we've had Presidents who were beloved who couldn't find a coherent sentence with two hands and a flashlight. People don't drink the sand 'cause they're thirsty. They drink the sand 'cause they don't know the difference.”

We have a genuine lack of leadership in government today, and your drama teaching experience is noticeable in your ridiculous notion to impose mandatory use of masks.

The talking heads from the health organizations controlled by your puppet master struggle to maintain the narrative that wearing masks is an important safety measure. Dr. Fauci, with the CDC, said he believes that while wearing a mask is not “100% effective,” that it shows “respect for another person” and admits “it is a symbolic gesture.”

Even Dr. Tam’s beloved WHO have even had to tap dance around their stance on face masks. On June 5, they reversed their earlier recommendation that there was no benefit for the general public use of face masks. Or did they? When reviewing the advice on the use of masks in the context of COVID-19 document in the “guidance on the use of masks for the general public” section, there is a clear and obvious deflection:

“Many countries have recommended the use of fabric masks/face coverings for the general public. At the present time, the widespread use of masks by healthy people in the community setting is not yet supported by high quality or direct scientific evidence.”

Dr. Tam, has been utilizing her intelligence and common sense to share quotes on the use of face masks: "It can sometimes make it worse, if the person puts their finger in their eye or touches their face under their mask." She has also said wearing a mask could give people a "false sense of security," that "most people haven't learned how to use masks," and "there is no need to use a mask for well people."

She has fallen in with your ridiculous notion that masks should be mandatory by stating: "A non-medical mask can reduce the chance of your respiratory droplets coming into contact with others or landing on surfaces," followed quickly with: "The science is not certain, but we need to do everything that we can, and it seems a sensible thing to do."
