A 52-year-old man has been arrested in connection with Vancouver's fifth homicide of 2020.
Luis Maulen has been charged with one count of second-degree murder for the death of 49-year-old Daniel Haydon of Vancouver.
The incident took place in Vancouver's downtown eastside on Canada Day. Vancouver Police were called to East Hastings Street and Hawks Avenue shortly after 10:30 a.m. on July 1 for reports of a stabbing. When police arrived on scene they found Mr. Haydon suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on July 3.
Detectives were able to identify Maulen as the suspect and arrest him in Vancouver on July 3, Maulen remains in custody.
