The 2020 Young Stars Classic set for this fall in Penticton has been postponed indefinitely.
Scheduled for early September at the South Okanagan Events Centre, the event featuring prospects from the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, and Vancouver Canucks would have been a triumphant return to Penticton after missing a year in 2019 due to lack of participating teams.
A statement released by the Vancouver Canucks and the SOEC said that the event will be rescheduled "to a future date," citing COVID-19 concerns.
"The Canucks and SOEC have enjoyed a long-standing partnership, previously co-hosting eight young stars tournaments together, and look forward to bringing NHL hockey back to fans in the Okanagan when the time is appropriate."
