Sobeys providing list of stores with COVID-19 confirmations

Sobeys lists COVID cases

If you're worried the grocery store you usually go to has had a case of COVID-19, Sobeys has announced a tool to let you check their locations.

The massive grocery company — which owns brands like Safeway, IGA, FreshCo and Thrifty Foods — has created a list of grocery stores they own where a confirmed case of COVID-19 has been detected. They include the date the employee last worked, as well.

"We will continue to update the COVID-19 tracker below to be transparent with you where we have been notified of cases of COVID-19 in our stores," the company states on its website. "Out of respect for our teammates and their confidentiality, we will never release any personal information about our people."

As of 10:30 a.m. today, April 5, there are two locations in B.C. listed, both in the Lower Mainland.

"Out of an abundance of caution, with each case that is reported, we will deep clean and sanitize the store location," states the company.
