Dr. Bonnie Henry provides an update on B.C.'s COVID-19 situation

29 new virus cases, 3 deaths

The number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 announced Saturday is lower than it has been in several days, as British Columbians continue to practice physical distancing measures. 

During her daily press conference, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said they've confirmed another 29 cases in the province in the past 24 hours, bringing the total in the province to 1,203. Of these, 128 cases are in the Interior Health region. 

Across the province, 47,352 people have been tested for the virus. 

Dr. Henry also announced three more people in the province have died from the virus, bringing the total in B.C. to 38. Currently, 149 patients are being treated in hospital, 68 of whom are in critical care. 

Another 63 people have fully recovered from the disease, bringing the total active cases in the province to 461.
