Vernon Museum launching green initiative for Earth Day

Get green on social media

Earth Day is coming up this month, and the Greater Vernon Museum & Archives is launching a social media campaign that highlights the impact of climate change and environmental alteration in the Okanagan for the occaison.

A series of posts will dive into the topics of orchards, cattle, irrigation, hunting and fishing. The posts will provide information how these aspects affects our native species and natural ecosystems, both now and in the past.

The online campaign is part of the museum's Green Initiative, which aims to educate its visitors on the effects of climate change while also attempting to reduce the museum's own environmental impact.

To follow along with the campaign, you can check out the museum's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. The campaign will be running the week of Earth Day, which is the week of April 19-25.
