COVID doesn't stop thieves from robbing Vernon business

No respite from crime

One of the few things that is not taking a break during the COVID-19 crisis is crime.

A Vernon business was recently broken into, and the owners are hoping the public will keep an eye out for some of the stolen items.

E&S Quality Air is a family owned and operated business that installs HVAC systems.

The company posted on its Facebook page Tuesday that it was broken into Monday night.

“We believe whoever has our tools will try to unload them somewhere for cash. I know most people aren’t out and about right now, but if you see or hear of anyone trying to sell/pawn or trade the following items, please let us know,” the post stated.

The stolen items include:

  • extension cords
  • gas cans
  • a tool pouch that contains tin snips, screwdrivers, a hammer, folding pliers, and other various sheet metal tools
  • a Lincoln mic pac 140 welder (serial # M3180308567)
  • a Makita tool bag containing a cordless drill, saws-all, Skill Saw, radio with charger, and multiple batteries
  • other various tools

“Most of the tools have the initials CR on them in black marker. Thankfully, most of our equipment is too big and heavy to pack off,” the post said.
