The BC Centre for Disease Control has recommended reducing excess air pollution in populated airsheds due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Province of British Columbia has issued a response by restricting all High Smoke Sensitivity Zones across the province until April 15. This means no new fires may be initiated, and no additional material may be added to existing fires.
Burn permits issued by Vernon Fire Rescue Services are now cancelled until April 15.
