Kelowna RCMP procession shows support for healthcare workers

Police lights for healthcare

The Kelowna RCMP held their first show of support for healthcare professionals Saturday night in Kelowna.

The procession of RCMP vehicles — displaying emergency lights and chirping sirens — left the detachment heading westbound of Clement Avenue, southbound on Water Street, and along Pandosy Street, passing Kelowna General Hospital before officers returned to their duties. The Kelowna Fire Department also took part.

"This event has been inspired by the utmost respect, admiration, and appreciation the Kelowna RCMP have for our health care professionals who have been tasked with a difficult job during the challenges of the pandemic of COVID-19," says Cpl. Michael Kube with the Kelowna RCMP.

"We wanted to show our support for everything they are doing for our community."

Kelowna RCMP will be doing it all again Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m.
