Potter script found in trash

A script for 2001 movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone could sell for almost $60,000 when it hits the auction block at Hansons Auctioneers of Derbyshire.

The film script, belonging to director Chris Columbus, was picked out of a skip where it had been trashed.

Workers at Hansons Auctioneers of Derbyshire, the U.K. company selling the piece of movie memorabilia, have placed an estimate of $35,663 to $59,438 on the item.

"The seller was working as a contractor for an insurance firm and called to a storage facility near Windsor, where the contents were being disposed of," they said, reported Britain's Daily Express newspaper. "The vendor salvaged the script from the skip and was told everything was being destroyed so he could keep it."

The movie is the first of the hugely popular series based on J.K. Rowling's hit novels, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson.
