RCMP in Penticton arrest man in connection to drug trafficking

Drug trafficking arrest made

Penticton RCMP have arrested a man in connection to a local drug trafficking operation.

Over the course of two weeks, the Street Enforcement Unit conducted an investigation and executed a search warrant on a suite in the 1000 block of Westminster Avenue in Penticton.

While officers were inside the suite, Ryan Chaffey, 41, arrived back at the location and was arrested for drug trafficking and multiple probation order breaches.

Evidence was found that a drug trafficking operation was being carried out from that residence.

Cutting agents, scales, empty baggies, all used in packaging of drugs were seized.

“Our SEU officers are working tirelessly to investigate and support charges against those in our community responsible for trafficking dangerous illegal drugs. All our officers will continue to perform drug enforcement in the South Okanagan, as this is certainly a contributing factor to crime, and theft of property," said Cst. James Grandy.

Chaffey was released from custody Wednesday following charges against him being approved in court.
