Gambling just not the same

Does anybody remember the days when the Lotto 6/49 started? Well, if not, here is a reminder. You picked 6 numbers out of 49, marked them on a card, paid and then waited for the draw, which, by the way, was on TV. The good old way of gambling.

This went on for years and every so often you would have won something. The jackpots were way lower that they are now, however, your chances to win have been way higher than they are today. And, of course, if the government allows gambling they want to have their cut.

However, at one point in time they figured that their cut was not big enough and they changed the rules. The draws are not on TV anymore, they are now done by a computer. This was the time I quit gambling. And not just 6/49 or Lotto Max, also in the casinos. In the "good old days," so to speak, there was an atmosphere in every casino, today, without the coins and all electronics it's almost like walking into a funeral.

However, now the jackpots are higher, way higher and you might ask why? Well, I'll tell you why. Computer draws are not random. Everything a computer does is a calculation.

Therefore, after all tickets are registered, the computer can calculate how to get away with the least amount of payout. And that is why we see the jackpots go up and up and up. And the higher it gets, the more money is spent by people for the next draw.

And if anybody wins the jackpot or not doesn't really matter, the government takes it's cut, which is now higher than ever. In other words, we are getting ripped off big time and nobody seems to care. Stop giving them your money, all they do with it is waste it.
