South Okanagan woman pleads guilty to stealing from Oliver PAC

Guilty of stealing from PAC

A former treasurer of the Oliver Elementary School Parental Advisory Committee has pleaded guilty to stealing from the committee.

Belinda Yorke appeared in Penticton Supreme Court Monday to enter her guilty plea to theft over $5,000.

Yorke was treasurer of the PAC between June 2016 and January 2018 when she resigned, the same month when members of the committee reported the apparent theft to RCMP.

An 18-month long investigation led to charges in August 2019.

Yorke had no comment for media when asked outside the courtroom. She is now scheduled for a sentencing hearing on April 27, 2020.
