Snow and cold temperatures hit the Okanagan Valley

Spring weather takes a break

Despite the warm weather that the Okanagan has been experiencing lately, it seems that spring still isn't quite here yet. Snow is falling across the valley, and there is a chance of snow and wet flurries for Monday as well.

The North Okanagan is getting some thick snowfall, with Salmon Arm expecting between two to four centimetres of snow on Sunday. Armstrong and Vernon are both getting about a centimetre of cumulative snowfall, although the snow is coming down heavily in the mid-morning.

Kelowna is experiencing some snow and rain, with temperatures hovering around freezing. West Kelowna got hit with some thick flurries, but only about one centimetre of snow is expected to stick around.

The South Okanagan doesn't have any snowfall at the moment, but Environment Canada says there is a chance of light snow in the forecast for Penticton and Summerland.
