Warriors roll past Vipers

The West Kelowna Warriors snapped a six-game losing streak Friday with a 6-4 victory over the Vernon Vipers at Kal Tire Place.

John Evans scored three times to pace the Warriors attack.

He now has 50 points on the season becoming just the second rookie in franchise history to hit the 40-point plateau. Connor Dempsey put up 58 during the 2011-2012 season.

Evans now has points in 14 of his last 15 games. He has 10 goals and 12 assists over that span.

Ryan Upson, Levi Stauber and former Viper Elan Bar Lev Wise also scored for the Warriors.

The Vipers opened the scoring Friday, and led 2-1 after 20,

But, Evans took over in the second.

He buried his 20th and 21st of the season late in the second, the go ahead goal coming with just 35 second left in the second on a power play.

Upson assisted on both.

Max Bulawka tied it early in the third, but it was the Warriors who would snap the tie late.

Stauber broke the tie 13 minutes into the third, then Bar Lev Wise netted what proved to be the game winner three minutes later..

Evans completed the hat trick into an empty net.

The Warriors and Vipers close out the BCHL regular season Saturday at Royal LePage Place.
