Thompson Rivers University and its faculty have ratified a new contract.
The agreement includes a three-year term (April 1, 2019, to March 31, 2022) and general wage increases of 2% each year.
It also includes negotiated adjustments to the compensation structure to attract and retain high-performing faculty who provide teaching and research opportunities for students.
The TRU Faculty Association represents about 900 staff, members of the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators Local 2. They work in Kamloops and Williams Lake as faculty instructors, counsellors, librarians and instructional support.
Currently, about 240,000 public-sector employees are covered by tentative or ratified agreements reached under B.C.'s Sustainable Services Negotiating Mandate, according to the provincial government.
