Wildfire mitigation underway in Kelowna's Knox Mountain Park

Reducing risk of fire

Parts of Kelowna's Knox Mountain Park will be inaccessible for the next few months while the city performs wildfire mitigation work.

City crews and heavy equipment are working in the east section of the park. They are expected to be working until late spring.

During fuel mitigation work, access from Cara Glen Way will be unavailable, and trails may be closed without advance notice.

Park users will be required to follow all work signs, keep dogs on leash, and use caution when accessing trails until work is complete.

Fuel mitigation is designed to reduce fire hazards in the park, and lessen the severity if a wildfire does spark in the park.
