Jude Law is reportedly in talks to star in Taika Waititi's showbiz satire mini-series, The Auteur.
According to Variety, the actor is in the running to play the off-kilter title character in the Showtime series, which is to be co-written with Peter Warren, who penned the screenplay for the 2016 horror comedy Ghost Team.
In addition to his role as executive producer, Taika will also be directing a few of the episodes, although further details of the show have yet to be announced.
Jude will apparently also have an executive producer role on the program, similar to the set up he currently has on his HBO drama series, The New Pope.
The rumored casting comes after Taika became the first Maori filmmaker to win the Adapted Screenplay prize at the Academy Awards when he won his first-ever Oscar for Jojo Rabbit at the ceremony last weekend.
