Tickets on sale now for annual Pig Out Festival in Oliver

Keep calm and hula on

The ninth annual Pig Out Festival has announced its new theme and that tickets are now on sale for the Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country summer event.

"Keep Calm and Hula On" is this year's theme, celebrating a Hawaiian vibe complete with a planned outdoor pig roast.

“Pig Out Festival is all about coming together in celebration of a creative culinary theme to kick-off the season,” said Jennifer Busmann, executive director of Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country. “Guests can expect lively music, costume contests and an abundance of delicious food and wine.”

Last year's theme was "May the Pork be With You," seeing guests decked out in all things Star Wars.

The event will take place May 2 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Covert Farms Family Estate, celebrating wines from the region.

All 47 Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country members will be pouring new releases and fan favourites, alongside Hawaiian-themed pork dishes from the region’s most notable culinary teams including Platinum Bench Artisan Bakery, Watermark Beach Resort and Oliver Eats.

Over 1,000 people attend each year, and it's a family-friendly zone featuring a giant bouncy pillow for the kids and plenty more activities.

New this year is the "Bring Home the Bacon" event on Sunday, May 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Oliver eats. Tickets include a hearty pork-centric breakfast, wine samples, entertainment, and access to an artisan market. $2 from every ticket sold will go directly to Oliver Osoyoos Search & Rescue

TIckets to the regular event are $69 for adults and $35 for youth aged 13-18, and kids under 12 are free.
