Vancouver Police investigate distribution of racist flyers

Racist flyers 'disturbing'

WARNING: The following post contains disturbing and content.

Police are investigating after racist flyers surfaced in East Vancouver this week.

The words "white man" are written in bold capital letters at the top of of the flyers, which ask: "Are you sick and tired of Anti-White propaganda constantly being promoted by our universities, mainstream media and government?"

Following a similar comment, the flyer proclaims, "You are not alone!"

A number of religious and cultural symbols follow the bold proclamation, and they are crossed out.

A closing statement on the flyer reads: "White Nationalism is North America's fastest-growing civil rights movement, and the only movement that puts the interest of our people's first!"

On Twitter, Morgane Oger, LGBTQ+ activist, tweeted: "This disgusting flyer was distributed in Vancouver this weekend, on the lead up to #HolocaustMemorialDay."

"This illustrates why acts targeting people in communities because of who they are need to face consequences in publications, public institutions, and online."

"We are aware of the flyers and we find this material extremely disturbing and offensive," said VPD Sgt. Aaron Roed. "Our Criminal Intelligence Unit and our Hate Crimes Unit are actively investigating."

According to Roed, a number of flyers were found on windshields in the Vancouver Kingsway area.
