ProSource Supply receives complaints over non-company vehicle

Erratic driver not employee

Staff of ProSource Supply in Kelowna are becoming increasingly frustrated with the behaviour of a driver who is not an employee, but appears to drive a company vehicle.

Two years ago, a ProSource truck was in an accident and written off – but somehow, the tailgate featuring the company's logo made its way onto another truck.

Kelowna branch manager Travis Turner says he believes the vehicle was taken to a junk yard after the accident and parted out.

Since then, the driver has been the source of endless complaints from people believing he is an employee of ProSource, and it's giving the company a bad name, says Turner.

Just last week, ProSource received another call from an angry driver saying one of its delivery truck drivers was driving erratically and irresponsibly.

"When I heard it happened again, I was very frustrated," says Turner. "I'm just thinking of how many other people have seen it and got a bad taste in their mouth about ProSource, when it's not even us."

The easiest way for other drivers to distinguish between company and non-company vehicles is the updated branding, says Turner.

The truck in question features the old branding and logo, when the company was called ProSource Irrigation Supply and had a blue and green logo. Now, the company is called ProSource Supply and the logo is blue.

RCMP have been notified, and ProSource has requested people contact the Kelowna office directly at 250-862-9424 if they see the vehicle.
