Penticton Vees have a six-game win streak

Six straight Vees wins

A big victory over the Merritt Centennials on Friday secured a six-game win streak for the Penticton Vees Friday.

The Vees won 6-2, coming out of the gate strong with four goals in the first period alone.

The Centennials fought back in the second period, putting one in the net, but the Vees also added to their lead when Danny Weight scored his second of the game.

In the third period, the Vees made it 6-1 with a power play goal from Darwin Lakoduk.

The Centennials managed another goal but it was nowhere near enough to secure a win.

Vees goalie Carl Stankowski turned aside 30 of the 32 shots he faced in his 11th win of the season.

The Vees (37-11-1-1) will see a bit of time off before their next matchup, taking on the Vernon Vipers (24-19-2-1) on Saturday, February 1st at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Puck drop is slated for 6:00 PM with tickets available for purchase at the Valley First Box Office as well as online at ValleyFirstTix.com.
