Potholes caused a royal a pain for drivers travelling through the George Massey Tunnel on Friday.

A large pothole sidelined several cars in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 at the tunnel connecting Delta and Richmond.

Numerous cars were seen pulled over on the shoulder at the south end of the tunnel.

Matt Blair says he saw half a dozen vehicles damaged by the pothole this morning.

Members of the Ladner’s Landing Facebook group have been talking about potholes in the tunnel the last few days.

“My husband blew a tire on the pothole at 6 a.m. today,” read one Jan. 21 comment. “I went through it shortly after him and thought it was going to happen to me too! It was massive!”

Another user posted on Tuesday, “That thing was huge! I thought it was gonna rip my tire off when I hit it yesterday.”
