Highway 1 between Revelstoke and Golden has reopened

Highway crashes cleared

UPDATE: 2:50 p.m.

The crash scene on the Trans Canada Highway near Glacier National Park has been cleared.

According to DriveBC, the stretch of highway between Revelstoke and Golden has now reopened.


UPDATE: 1:15 p.m.

DriveBC reports the Okanagan Connector, Highway 97C, has fully reopened at Pennask Summit.


UPDATE: 1:10 p.m.

Complete opening of the Trans-Canada Highway near Glacier National Park between Revelstoke and Golden has been pushed back to 3 p.m., DriveBC reports.


UPDATE: 11:15 a.m.

The Trans-Canada Highway has reopened to single-lane, alternating traffic between Revelstoke and Golden Wednesday morning, after a crash closed the highway earlier. 


UPDATE: 10:07 a.m.

The Trans-Canada Highway is now closed in both directions 15 kilometres east of Glacier National Park.

Emergency crews are on scene and have begun their assessment. There is no detour available at this time.

The estimated time of reopening is 1 p.m.


UPDATE: 9:47 a.m.

A westbound single lane on the Okanagan Connector remains closed at the Pennask Summitt. The lane is not expected to reopen until 1 p.m.


ORIGINAL: 8:27 a.m.

DriveBC is reporting that Highway 97C westbound is down to one lane after an incident at Pennask Summitt.

Conditions on the Okanagan Connector and the Coquihalla are expected to be slippery today with snow and possibly rain expected to start later this afternoon.

The next update isn't expected until 9:30 a.m.
