West Kelowna Warriors host division-leading Penticton Tuesday

Warriors face stiff test

The West Kelowna Warriors face another stiff test when another division leader hits Royal LePage Place Tuesday.

The Warriors, fresh off a 3-2 shootout win over Island Division-leading Cowichan Valley Saturday, will entertain the Penticton Vees, the top dogs in the interior.

The Vees come in winners of four in a row and eight of their last nine. Over the course of their current four game winning streak, they've allowed just four goals against.

The Warriors, meantime, are in the midst of their hottest streak of the season, winning four of their last five.

The Vees have won all four meetings between the two clubs this season, the latest, a 3-2 victory at RLP Dec. 7.

Tyler Cristall, John Evans and Nick Ardenaz all had two points in that game.

Liam Malmquist scored the eventual game winner for the Vees.

Tuesday's game marks the final road game for the Vees this season.

They'll conclude the regular season with nine straight at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

The Warriors meantime will be playing their sixth of seven at home this month. They come into the game 3-2 over that stretch.

They'll host Vernon Saturday before beginning a stretch of eight of nine on the road.

That will include a date in Alberni Valley Jan. 30. That game, originally scheduled for Nov. 9, was postponed due to problems with the arena in Port Alberni.

The Warriors head into Tuesday's tilt with 29 points, five better than the seventh place Merritt Centennials.

The Vees hold a 10-point bulge over Trail atop the interior.
