Concerned residents in Kitsilano are breathing a bit easier now that they know an explosion Monday afternoon was part of a movie shoot.
The explosion could be seen and heard from all around the region and it didn't take long for photos to start appearing on social media.
CTV News Vancouver is reporting on multiple posts on social media referencing a loud blast and posting photos of the cloud of dark smoke.
"Some kind of explosion in Vancouver just now in Kitsilano," said one tweet posted at 11:49 a.m. Another Twitter user reported hearing a "loud bang" and then saw smoke in the sky.
Vancouver police have now confirmed with CTV News that the explosion was part of a movie shoot.
The photograph shows several explosions around the now-defunct Molson Coors Brewery, near the Burrard Street Bridge.
