Daniel Craig: It's time to go

Daniel Craig is "very sad" to be stepping down from his role as James Bond - but insists "it's time to go."

The British actor has appeared in five movies in the franchise, and will bow out in No Time to Die, which hits theatres in April.

Speaking to U.S. TV show Extra at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Craig confessed he was sad to be leaving the franchise.

"I'm very sad, but also it's been five movies and I've been incredibly proud of every single one of them, and now it's time to go," he said.

Looking to the future, however, the star opened up on the possibility of a sequel for his 2019 hit Knives out, for which he was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy.

Despite losing out on the prize to Taron Egerton, he added: "The plan is to try and do another one, I think. Every time you do a movie, you hope it's gonna be the best thing there is " we hit it."
