Crowds attended the holiday light up at Penticton's SS Sicamous

Crowds gather at Sicamous

On Saturday evening, dozens of families gathered at Penticton's SS Sicamous to watch the boat light up with holiday decorations and enjoy a warm celebration.

The by-donation open house raised funds for the society that maintains the boat and the museum inside.

There were plenty of children with parents and grandparents, some happily noticing the Santa Claus cutout perched at the bow of the boat.

A silent auction inside raised more money, while many of the kids in attendance enjoyed the model trains.

The lights on the exterior of the over 100 year old sternwheeler will keep the Okanagan Lake shoreline looking festive all season.
