Flight diverted, lands safely

UPDATE: 12:55 p.m.

A Convair aircraft which was diverted to Kelowna earlier today experienced a high temperature indication for the oil system, prompting crew to land.

"The flight crew elected to shut down the engine on a precautionary basis and turned around and decided to come to Kelowna where we have full maintenance facilities to address the issue," said Mike Coulthard, director of flight operations for KF Aerospace.

Coulthard confirmed the aircraft was occupied by only two pilots at the time of the incident.

"The airplane is on the ground here and our maintenance people are troubleshooting the issue," said Coulthard.

No damage was done to the plane during the incident however, crews are working to replace a part before the aircraft departs later this afternoon.
