Powder Gulch Express lift will open Saturday

More runs open at the Star

Let it snow, let it snow, let's open some more runs.

Saturday morning the Powder Gulch Express lift, on the mountain's backside of Silver Star Mountain Resort, will open for the season.

With the opening of Powder Gulch, all mountain lifts are up and running.

Silver Star has also opened Brewer's Pond for skating and Paradise Camp restaurant on the backside.

"We are thrilled to have all of our lifts now running," said Chantelle Deacon, media relations manager, SilverStar. "Conditions are looking great and it looks like more snow is in the forecast."

Deacon said with the opening of the Powder Gulch lift, it's important to remember that there is still closed terrain on the backside. The mountain asks that for safety reasons guests respect closures until there is enough snow to open more terrain.

"At this time, only terrain from Caliper over to the Gypsy side will be open," Deacon said. "We will keep the Eldorado/Sunny Ridge side closed until we receive more snow."

SilverStar has a new ride-share parking lot.

Meet your friends at the St. John's Lutheran lot, next to Butcher Boys on Silver Star Road and take one car up to the mountain.

Snow hounds can also save money on gas while helping the environment and download the Poparide, ride-share app.
