Fire doesn't faze Eastwood

Clint Eastwood refused to stop working when Warner Bros. Studios were evacuated amid a wildfire threat last month.

The movie legend, 89, was on his way to work when the Barham brush fire broke out close to the lot, but he never thought about turning around and heading home, even though the air quality was "so bad."

"I was coming back down to do some work at a sound stage and I saw all this smoke going," he told studio lot neighbour Ellen DeGeneres while promoting his new movie Richard Jewell on Monday.

"I'm getting closer and closer and it's Warner Bros. and it's smoke and I got almost up there and I thought, 'The whole studio's burning down, maybe I'll go in and see if I can retrieve something'.

"So we went on the sound stage and started working and we forgot about it... Everybody said, 'The studio's been evacuated!' And I said, 'We're not evacuated, we're here working!'"
