ChristmasFest returns to Kelowna to benefit Food Bank

ChristmasFest for a cause

The Okanagan ChristmasFest returns to Kelowna this year to benefit the Central Okanagan Food Bank while spreading the magic of the holidays.

An outdoor market, jingle bar, gingerbread house display, Telus Christmas tree walk, appearances from Santa and live entertainment will be available. Visitors can vote on their favourite tree and also bid on them in a charity auction.

The indoor/outdoor event takes place Dec. 12, 13 and 14, at the Kanata Hotel.

Last year, the event raised more than $10,000 for the Central Okanagan Food Bank.

Attendees can enjoy live entertainment from Melissa Livingstone, Anna Jacyszyn Trio and more while also indulging in mulled wine, Christmas cocktails, apple cider, chocolates and German Bratwurst.

An elementary school gingerbread competition has been added to this year's festivities where attendees can purchase a raffle ticket for a prize pack, which includes a chef-inspired gingerbread house along with a weekend stay at Silver Star with ski passes, in support of The Bridge Youth & Family Services Youth Recovery House.

“We are proudly 100 per cent Canadian owned and believe in giving all our guests an experience nothing short of the Canadian hospitality we are known for," said Sharon Lewis, general manager at The Kanata.

"We love supporting the community of Kelowna. We are excited once again to be the presenting sponsor of Okanagan ChristmasFest and can’t wait to welcome the community to celebrate Christmas with us."
