Kelowna city council is taking its show on the road.
For the first time in more than a decade, council will hold a full, regular Monday afternoon meeting somewhere other than City Hall.
Monday's meeting will be held on the campus of UBC Okanagan. Instead of a 1:30 p.m. start, the meeting is slated to gavel in at 6 p.m.
The last time council held a meeting away from council chambers was in March 2007, when three meetings were held at Kelowna Community Theatre while council chambers underwent renovations.
The change of venue came about through a conversation between deputy vice-chancellor and principal Deborah Buszard and Mayor Colin Basran.
City clerk Stephen Fleming says once council voted to accept the invitation, it became a matter of logistics to ensure there were adequate facilities in which to hold the meeting.
