Kelowna Rockets have reassigned Deegan Mofford to Warriors

Warriors add WHL forward

The West Kelowna Warriors have added 18-year-old forward Deegan Mofford to their roster.

Mofford Monday was reassigned to the to the Warriors by the Western Hockey League's Kelowna Rockets.

The native of Rocky Mountain House, Alta. suited up in just two games with the Rockets this season, . He was held without a point during that span.

In three seasons previous with the Midget AAA Red Deer Chiefs, Mofford scored 43 goals and 85 points in 98 regular season games.

He added four goals and 10 points in 12 playoff games.

“I’m very excited to meet the management, players and the fans in West Kelowna”, said Mofford, who was taken in the third round, 45th overall in the 2016 bantam draft.

“I cannot wait to see what the future brings with the Warriors organization.”

“We look forward to adding Deegan to our lineup. Deegan is a big power forward that can create offence for our group and he is excited to get started here in West Kelowna," said Warriors head coach Brandon West.

Mofford and the Warriors continue a long string of seven straight on the road Saturday in Prince George. They travel to Surrey a week Wednesday before finally returning home to host the Wenatchee Wild Friday, Nov. 22.

It will mark the Warrriors first home date in nearly a month.
