Greta Thunberg has said no to Victoria.
The Swedish climate activist declined an invite to the B.C. capital because getting there would mean taking a fossil fuel-powered ferry, city officials say.
“The absence of a fossil fuel-free option was a major obstacle to visiting the island," Mayor Lisa Helps told CTV News.
Former Olympic rower Adam Kreek offered to bring Thunberg to Vancouver Island without burning any fuel.
“I’m throwing my oars in the ring,” Kreek told CTV.
