Vernon Ski Club Ski Swap offers an afforodable way to ski

Amazing deals galore

They lined up by the hundreds to get at some of the hottest deals of the season.

The 51st annual Vernon Ski Club Ski Swap is being held at the recreation complex until 3 p.m. today and there is no better time to get some new gear.

James Phair, with the ski club, said the event is an affordable way for people to get into the sport.

“This is a very important event as a community fundraiser for the Vernon Ski Club. It allows us to make skiing more affordable and have a better entry point for families across the Okanagan,” said Phair. “You're not going to get this year's models really cheap, but certainly can get last year's and the year before really cheap – brand new skis, boots, lots of new poles out there. One retailer brought in about 250 jackets brand new on the rack.”

Deals can be found on Nordic equipment, Alpine, snowboards and even some snowshoes were drastically marked down.

Phair said shopping at the swap ends at 3 p.m.
