The annual “Warm Up for Winter” blanket and warm clothing drive is back.
Launched 10 years ago by the Soupateria and Gregory Litwin's notary office, the initiative was taken over by the South Okanagan Real Estate Board in 2017.
This year several real estate offices in Penticton, Summerland and Osoyoos are participating as drop-off sites. Collection runs from Oct. 18 to Nov. 20.
Donations from Penticton will be distributed at the St. Saviour’s church hall on Nov. 21 from noon to 6 p.m., while donations gathered in Summerland and Osoyoos go to agencies there.
"We as realtors are here to show our community our gratitude,” said SOREB member Lori Lancaster. “Helping the community’s most vulnerable is a good way to give back.”
Items accepted for donation are warm winter socks, clothing, fitted sheets, blankets, boots, shoes, hats, gloves and other warming items that you think will help.
Those that cannot get donations to the drop off points can call SOREB for a pickup at 250-492-0626.
