Wednesday's crash on the Trans-Canada Highway between Kamloops and Cache Creek claimed the life of one person.
RCMP say a 23-year-old woman from the Cariboo-Chilcotin area died after the two-vehicle, head-on collision, which closed the highway for hours about 15 kilometres east of Cache Creek.
The collision happened about 3 p.m.
RCMP say the victim was the driver of a westbound vehicle that crossed the centre line and collided head on with an eastbound pickup.
The other driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police are still investigating the collision.
