Logs spill, cover road on Yellowhead Highway near Kamloops

Spilled logging truck cleared

UPDATE: 7:30 p.m.

DriveBC advises the spilled logging truck scene north of Kamloops was cleared as of 6:30 p.m.


UPDATE: 5 p.m.

DriveBC says southbound lanes continue to be closed on the Yellowhead Highway north of Kamloops.

The highway is closed between River Heights Drive and Station Road in Heffley Creek.

A detour is in effect via local side roads. Expect delays.

The highway is expected to reopen by 7 p.m.


ORIGINAL: 2 p.m.

A logging truck spilled its load on the Yellowhead Highway, north of Kamloops, Tuesday.

The crash happened about noon, blocking three lanes of the highway.

DriveBC reports crews are assessing the incident and to expect delays.

It's not known how long it may take to clear the scene.
