Pilot safely ejects as Canadian Snowbirds plane crashes

Snowbird crashes, pilot safe

A Canadian Snowbirds jet has crashed.

Just before the Canadian Snowbirds were set to perform at the Atlanta Air Show, Capt. Kevin Domon-Grenier had to eject from his aircraft.

The incident took place about 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, as reported by CTV News

Domon-Grenier was not injured in the crash and was able to safely remove himself from the aircraft, said the team on its official Twitter account.

“It is too early to speculate on the cause of the incident. We are thankful Kevin and the public are unhurt,” the Snowbirds tweeted.

The rest of Sunday's show was cancelled after the crash.

The Snowbirds, officially known as the 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, are the flight demonstration team of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
