Vernon Vipers downed visiting Merritt Centennials 5-2 Friday

Vipers end losing skid

The slump is over.

The Vernon Vipers broke a four-game losing skid Friday when they defeated the visiting Merritt Centennials 5-2 at Kal Tire Place.

The Vipers had been scoreless in their last three outings.

Keigo Hachisuka scored his first BC Hockey League goal and Ryan Shostak pitched in a pair to put the Vipers in the win column.

Matt Kowalski and Ryan Shostak each potted singles in the win.

The Interior Division Vipers will have little time to savour the victory as they host the Chilliwack Chiefs tonight.

The puck drops at 6 p.m.
