Tyrants want gun control. Good politicians should want responsible gun ownership.
If the goal is getting to the irresponsible and criminal gun use, make the punishment fit the crime. If you commit any offence with a firearm, automatic five years. If you pull the trigger, automatic 15 years. Doesn’t matter where you got the gun.
Responsible gun owners, hunters and enthusiastic shooters should never be painted with the same brush as armed robbers and gang bangers.
Canada has very strong and clear gun possession laws already.
Just because some poorly informer leaders want to grandstand the issue just shows how misled they are. Really does make them look more foolish than usual.
