The Regional District of North Okanagan has approved an application by the owner of Squires Four Pub for a non-medical cannabis retail store on the property.
The district board approved the application at a public hearing this week.
Representatives of the company were the only ones to speak at the hearing. There was no opposition.
If given final approval, the cannabis retail store would be located in the northwest corner of the complex, just Highway 97 across from Swan Lake.
The owner is proposing to convert an area of the pub which currently contains 50 seats into the retail store.
They are proposing operating between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. daily.
The application will now be forwarded to the province for final approval. There's no indication when that approval will be forthcoming.
Four retail cannabis stores have already been approved for Vernon, including SpiritLeaf, The Greenhorn and two locations of Vernon Cannabis.
