Colleges set to soar together

Okanagan College is teaming up with Ontario's Mohawk College on new aviation training and research initiatives.

Both colleges have tight connections to KF Aerospace, as the company has operations in Kelowna and in Hamilton, where Mohawk College is located.

The memorandum of understanding will result in cross-country opportunities for training, internships and co-operative education.

“We know there is both a global need for highly skilled aerospace professionals and an ever-growing call for applied research and innovation across the aerospace industry,” Okanagan College education vice-president Andrew Hay said in a press release.

“Collaboration between OC and Mohawk College will help us pursue and advance joint applied research opportunities that will open doors to innovative learning and teaching opportunities for our students and faculty."
